" A Musical Pyrotechnique"

LIGHTS OF BAGO

It is a good way to start the New Year with noise of joy and a sky full of colors. It is both a mystery and excitement knowing that the best things and experiences in your life are just yet to happen.

It has been eight years already for Bago City to held this wonderful event and became an annual tradition. Each year it has a different theme of music. People cram up, go early on the stadium before the program starts to have a better view and position. Some people sat on the grandstand, some people sat cross-legged on the grass (like me) and some others prefer to stand. I occasionally stand up to have a better view and stretch, or else i would never see this amazing view like im looking on another galaxy.

"My common ritual is to send a wish on the first burst of fireworks to come."

Things have occasionally came true when I do this mantra. The feeling of excitement as the countdown nears to an end and starts with a deafening sound of good Filipino music, sang by different artist, followed by a loud popping noise of the fireworks. Then from a small dot floating in the air turning to a wide, colorful and magnanimous flare, my mouth twisted into a grin. It brings out the kid inside me. It reminds me also to look up, to hope and learn to smile beyond the deafening crackles in life. That no matter how small you think you are, you could always soar high and become the most beautiful thing to look up in the sky.
